President Barack Obama took questions about the so-called fiscal cliff Monday from Twitter users using the hashtag #My2K. Mandi Roberts was among those who participated and to whom the president responded. But despite Roberts' excitement that she had engaged directly with the president, she said she didn't think Obama actually answered her question.
"As a recent college grad w/o a full time job, these cuts wouldn't help me, would they?" Roberts tweeted, referring to the Bush era tax cuts, which Obama is seeking to extend for those with annual incomes of less than $250,000.
Obama responded with a broad comment about the fight with House Republican lawmakers and what the implications of the fiscal cliff debate could be for student loans and growth in the overall economy: "[C]uts w/out revenue=reductions in student loans; work/study & college tax credits expire. Bad for growth. like your hair! -bo"
HuffPost Live hosts Jacob Soboroff and Alyona Minkovski talked with Roberts about her interaction with the president, how it made her feel, and who she had to contact afterwards to tell about the experience.
Roberts appeared as part of a rundown of the day's top stories. Watch the full segment on HuffPost Live.
